A total of 79,185 people moved to Manitoba from other parts of Canada between 1996 and 2006 while 118,515 people moved in the opposite direction. These movements resulted in a net emigration of 16,370 people to Alberta, 12,785 to Ontario, and 7,615 to British Columbia. During this period there was a net emigration of 575 francophones to Alberta, 230 to British Columbia, 220 to Ontario, and 200 to Quebec; as well as a net influx of 430 anglophones from Quebec.
