Anita Lerche is an international singer, songwriter and composer from Denmark
. She has sung in sixteen languages and is the first non-Asian woman from the west to sing and release an own solo album in Punjabi. Her first Punjabi
album "Heer from Denmark
" was released in November 2006.

. Her father used to play guitar and this inspired her to start singing at the age of seven when she joined the Herlev School choir. At the age of thirteen she gained a place in the choir of Radio Denmark and was chosen to sing in an opera for children. Two years later she started western classical singing training and got her first professional job as a Church singer. She gained a place in the Danish Eurovision
with the song "My heart is beating".
Lerche has a degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts

She has since released a further Punjabi
album which includes the songs "Jugni" and "Mahiya". She is aiming to sing and play a role in a Bollywood film.
