Upgraded to C-130B Hercules in 1972, became a C-130 training squadron for Air Force Reservists. Also operated a C-130 flight simulator for aircrew training. Inactivated in 1976 due to budget reductions in the post-Vietnam era and the closure of Ellington Field.
