The Jordanian Armed Forces (القوات المسلحة الأردنية) with all of it branches, is under direct control of the King of Jordan.

The Jordanian Armed forces is also referred as The Arab Army (الجيش العربي). It was formed on 1 March 1956 by renaming the Arab Legion
