CoStar Group, Inc. is one of the largest providers of information/marketing services to commercial real estate professionals in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1987 by Andrew C. Florance. CoStar's suite of services offers customers access via the Internet to a database of commercial real estate information throughout the U.S. as well as in the United Kingdom and France. Headquartered in Washington, DC, CoStar has approximately 1,300 people working for the company worldwide, including the largest professional research organization in the industry.

Inc for about $860 million in cash and stock, to double its paid subscriber base. LoopNet is a commercial real estate information services provider and operates LoopNet.com, which is a commercial real estate listing service with over 4 million members.
