In 2010 he switched positions again and became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India. Tarzi has expressed wishes to further strengthen bilateral ties between India and Afghanistan: "India has stood with Afghanistan in rebuilding their nation during the periods of war, misery and destruction."
