After competing in Judo Michihiro Omigawa began his career as a Lightweight in mixed martial arts but struggled to find wins in this weight division. After cutting down to the Featherweight division Omigawa's recognition and career began to hit off when he entered the Sengoku Featherweight Grand Prix tournament promoted by World Victory Road
