History

Graphisoft's flagship product, ArchiCAD was the first implementation of Building Information Modeling introduced in 1987 as the Virtual Building concept. The very first ArchiCAD release already let architects draw walls, windows, doors, slabs and roofs — a common feature now every BIM-based architectural design software has. Subsequent ArchiCAD releases introduced other building information modeling features such as TeamWork, which enabled more architects to work on the same building in parallel or edit functions in three-dimensional model views or interoperability add-ons to communicate with other applications using IFC
