  in Bot. Univ. 1 : 314 1770 (as U. campestris argenteo-var.) as having leaves striped, spotted and margined with white. In other respects the form of the tree is true to Ulmus procera type. It sometimes produces variegated suckers.

Cultivation

'Argenteo-Variegata' has been in commerce since the 18th century. Gerald Wilkinson reported that "great specimens" of 'Argenteo-Variegata' could still be seen in the early 1970s at Kew
