Mascot

A falcon, the mascot of RGPV, holds a degree in its beak, portraying the engineers graduating from RGPV. The falcon holds a pen in one of its claws, symbolizes the power of expression. The paddy grasped by the other claw represents the productivity and prosperity resulting from the efforts of the graduates in their profession.

BEC/GEC/UIT-RGPV

UIT-RGPV is an engineering institution in central India. The institution was established in 1986 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh as the Government Engineering College, Bhopal. It has been granted Autonomous status from the 2010 session.

In 1998 the government of Madhya Pradesh declared the institute autonomous and named it Bhopal Engineering College (BEC). The institution was declared a constituent college of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (Technical University of the State of Madhya Pradesh) from July 2002 by an order of the government of Madhya Pradesh. It is knowns as the University Institute of Technology-RGPV,Bhopal or UIT-RGPV (also RGUIT).

Campus

The institution is near Gandhi Nagar on the outskirts of the city, 3 km from the airport on the Gwalior bypass road. The campus is spread over 241.14 acre (0.9758598204 km²). The main buildings start 1 km from the main gate. The campus has instruction blocks, workshop, library block, nanotechnology block, School of Energy and Environment block and Administrative block.

The campus has residential facilities for the staff and separate hostels for boys and girls. The campus is full of greenery and sightseeing locations specially in rainy season. Besides the above mentioned blocks, the campus includes an Energy Park, Bio-diesel Plant, Medicinal Garden and a number of windmills and solar panels which contribute to the energy sources of the university.

UIT: University Institute of Technology

Offers BE courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Industrial Production Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical.It has been granted Autonomous status from the 2010 session.

SOPS: School of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Devoted entirely to postgraduate study and research in pharmaceutical Sciences and allied disciplines, the school was established in 2002. The school teaches an understanding of medicines — how they made, how they act and how people use them to prevent and cure diseases. It does research in the areas of cancer drugs and HIV drug design and development, biopharmaceutics and drug delivery.
