On 19 October 1689,Suryajirao Pisal, Ozarde's Patil, was a relative of Rajaram, the mighty sardar proved traitor to Maratha Empire by his selfish deeds (As Suryaji Pisal opened gate of Fort Raygad being Killedar (Ruler of Fort), when Moghals gave him bribe and convinced him for the Deshmukhi Rights of Wai Pargana. Wai Pargana of that time was also under administration of Pisals Brotherhood. All this act of Pisal resulted into Defeat of Marathas and Moghals arrested Maharani Yesubai and Prince Shahu, both respectively were Wife ands Son of chhatrapati Sambhaji) and Pisals' glory had received strong blow in Marathas.
Though he proved traitor, his descendants were supported by Shahu and retained their Sardarki (knightship ). Pisals also took an active part to build the Maratha Empire
