Encyclopedia
Midway Arcade Treasures is a collection of 24 arcade games developed by Digital Eclipse and released by Midway for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.
A second collection, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, was released for the same consoles in October and a third console compilation, Midway Arcade Treasures 3 was released in September , except for the PC. Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play, a compilation of 21 select titles from all three volumes was released for the PSP. On February 17, 2006 Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition was released exclusively for the PC, containing all 28 games from Midway Arcade Treasures 2 and Midway Arcade Treasures 3, plus the original Mortal Kombat.
The compilation plays similarly on all three consoles, however the Xbox version has the extra ability to upload scores to an on-line scoreboard. The special features on each version of game are the same. These include game histories, developer interviews and other documents. This compilation is an amalgamation of the "Arcade's Greatest Hits" series (minus the pre-1984 Atari titles, as well as Burgertime and Moon Patrol), plus "Arcade Party Pak" for the original PlayStation and PC and each contain the exact same extras from those collections.
