The magazine is referred to by the publisher as Linux Magazine International because it is not exclusively distributed in England, but also in other countries around the world. This caused some confusion with another magazine called Linux Magazine

In 2008, Linux New Media, the publishers of Linux Magazine, purchased assets related to InfoStrada's Linux Magazine (USA). Linux Magazine (USA) continues to exist as an online publication, so no name-change was applied to Linux New Media's magazine.
