Biography

Lee Moyer began his initial painting training using the mediums of watercolor and oils. In 1989, he expanded into the digital art realm, which has become his premiere medium as a painter and illustrator. While building his freelance career and expanding his skill set, he worked for ten years as a Docent & Naturalist Illustrator at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

IDW released a remastered series of 13 issues from August 2009 to September, 2010; these featured expanded art by Kaluta, a complete recoloring of the series in Moyer's painting style, and unpublished back-up stories of the Galactic Girl Guides colored by Moyer. Lee Moyer also reformatted word balloons and archival art, as well as designing new ancillary art.

The IDW remastered series was collected as a large-format hardcover omnibus called the Starstruck Deluxe Edition and released by IDW on March 29, 2011. ISBN 0-88145-023-5

Elaine Lee collaborated with Lee Moyer on the book design and layouts for the Starstruck Deluxe Edition. For three decades, Elaine Lee and Michael Wm. Kaluta have been the sole copyright owners and creators of the series, but they felt that Moyer's contribution was so important that he was listed as a co-creator for the collected book.

Moyer also did the color for the wraparound cover of the Starstruck Audioplay

Game design

Moyer also extends his digital design skills toward designing video games, board games, and their packaging. He collaborated with game designer Keith Baker on the board game, "The Doom That Came To Atlantic City", a spoof that transplants the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft to New Jersey. This was announced as having a projected release within 2011.

Writing

Lee Moyer wrote the prefaces for issues #2, 3, and 4 for Starstruck: The Expanding Universe (Dark Horse), a series of story summaries written in character as a reporter for the fictional Rootersnoos news bureau.
