The absence of a 40-km long rail-line between LAKSAR and MUZAFFARNAGAR is costing every traveller to Dehradun an extra 100 km travel from DELHI. Right now, the distance between HARDWAR and DELHI is more than 270 km, and if there a rail track between LAKSAR and MUZAFFARNAGAR, the distance can be reduced to say about 200 km, equal to DELHI-AGRA, which translates into a mere three-hour journey http://www.uttaranchal.ws/railline.htm.
