Career

He was born in Bucharest

 and debuted in Divizia A with Dinamo București in 1966. He remained with Dinamo for twelve seasons, winning the league titles in 1971, 1973 and 1975 and the cup title in 1968. He became the top goalscorer of the Divizia A in 1969 with 22 goals and in 1971 with 15 goals.
