History

The band formed in the summer of 2008 and gigged extensively between September and December, playing bars, clubs and other small venues. They were voted 2nd in Rocksound Magazines readers poll for 'Best Live Unsigned Band'. In January 2009 the band began recording their first EP

 'Soundtrack to the Apocalypse' in vocalist's David Brown's home studio. The EP was self produced, mixed and mastered by David and was released June 5, 2009. With a new EP the band gigged throughout the summer and supported Hadouken in Wolverhampton

Early 2010 saw You and what army voted the third best unsigned act in Rock Sound Magazine. You and What Army then started work on their 2nd EP titled 'The End Of The Beginning', again recording in David's home studio between January/February and was released March 26, 2010.

2011 Has seen You and What Army touring around with some smaller headline shows. They have also returned to play Download Festival and Sonisphere festival as well as Camden Crawl and Main Stage Osfest in Oswestry.

Red Bull Bedroom Jam

During this time, the band had entered themselves into the 'Red Bull Bedroom Jam' 2010, an online competition where the prize was to win the chance the play 5 major festivals and be the opening act for major band on a full UK tour. You and What Army made it through the first stage which involved performing a live gig from a bedroom live across the internet and after making it through the second stage, they played on the Red Bull stages at Download Festival

After winning the competition the band spent 2 weeks in the Red Bull studio in London

 during October and recorded a 4 track EP which was released as a cover-mount via Rocksound magazine. The band also went on tour with Kids In Glass Houses and Boys Like Girls in support of the 'Dirt' tour during November.
