The first 35,000 tickets went on sale shortly after the 2006 festival and were sold within 70 minutes. The final batch of tickets, released on the 9th of March, sold out in less than 20 minutes.

    The 2008 festival was marred by two huge incidents which occurred over the weekend, including the first death at T in the Park. One man was found dead in his tent, another man was stabbed 11 times by two men after he intervened to stop them harassing a female friend of his. Fortunately, this incident did not result in a fatality. The organisers have been heavily criticized for the security not stopping the man who smuggled the knife into the festival. There were only 68 arrests at T in 2008, 1 up from the previous year.

    2009 festival

    The 2009 festival will take place over three days between 10 and 12 July. As with the 2008 festival, the campsite open on the Thursday evening to prevent traffic queues forming on the Friday.

    The first batch of "early bird" tickets sold out in ten hours on 15 July 2008.

    Festival organiser Geoff Ellis has said that the festival will feature more than 120 acts, playing to an audience of 85,000. On 31 January 2009, the first acts for the 2009 festival were confirmed as Katy Perry
