TPS was founded in 1969. The founding president of the party was Madan Mohan. The main leader of the party was the firebrand former Congress

Movement

TPS was the product of the violent agitations for the Telangana state at the time. On April 6 1969 TPS led a massive rally in Hyderabad. Police opened fire at the rally, and at least 50 person (mainly young students) were killed.

Elections
