. Over the next thirty (30) to forty (40) years Mehta travelled back and fourth between India and East Africa, a total of forty-six (46) times. During that period, he established the following in Uganda:(a) cotton ginneries (b) a sugar plantation (c) a sugar factory (d) tea plantations (e) coffee plantations. The sugar factory, established in 1924, was the founding of what today is known as SCOUL.
