    In recent years, average temperatures in the county seat of Freeport have ranged from a low of 9 °F (-12.8 °C) in January to a high of 82 °F (27.8 °C) in July, although a record low of -27 °F was recorded in January 1985 and a record high of 101 °F (38.3 °C) was recorded in July 1988. Average monthly precipitation ranged from 1.33 inches (3.4 cm) in January to 4.46 inches (11.3 cm) in June.
