About

Adig is a very talented artist; whose roots are very deep in Rajasthani folk, culture, music, art and craft. His earlier works were mainly based and depicted the folk art of the sand dunes’ state, specially his use of folk motifs was very attractive, as well as presenting the hard life and the finer aspects too.

Around the Sun

In his new paintings, Adig has transcended himself. Now his creativity has gone beyond the mere motifs and finds the wider path to communicate itself in many ways, as the sun shines throughout the day all over the world, enlightens the every aspect of human life. As you can see in every painting sun’s presence has a very meaningful perspective to converse the vast characteristics of the subject. Although the subject is not so much defined but the images reminds us of the relationships, which have been lost in the long span of time, and there is a incredibly deep and urgent call for reconstruction of the relations.
It seems that his earlier work has not yet permitted him too much to go away from the folk inspiration, that’s why the Chhapa, hands in various kinds of movements, plays a significant role in his paintings. Earlier there was a good use of ‘Breaking frames’ in his work; means the subject desire to come Out of the frame. But now you can see the place of a flower full thread of time and space has taken that frame. But now you can see the use of space in his works, he has not yet succeeded a lot, as he still wish to till the complete canvas, with all the possible imageries. It means he has very much conveyed through his paintings and a very small part of that has come out. Such a thrust opens the horizons of the artist, which should always be welcomed.
Adig has an intense affection for vibrant colours as well as for black too. Here he has done some finer experiments with lighter colours like white and yellow. The shades of his colours depict the wonderful use of knife.
Seeing his work we can say that the sun playing a vital role in Adig’s paintings represents the all sorts of energy to reinforce the human relationships in the age of fast communication where the love strings has lost its meanings. These paintings try to bring the lighten side of the finding aspects of human affairs.

His paintings talk about freedom which is wrapped up in societal norms, traditional etiquettes, and at times in male chauvinism. For painter Ramkishan Adig, today's women are enjoying the bliss of freedom but within a cocoon. Something similar has been portrayed in his exhibition-Mohatarma, which was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Surekh art gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra.

Adig who is famous for his experimental approach in paintings, has again depicted his expertise by displaying his observation on the condition of women and society. With 16 drawings and four paintings, he has also made an effort to get into the secret world of a woman.
