in 2002 as DJ Sam. He completed his post-graduation in Business Management from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya
and joined Radio Mirchi
as a full-time RJ. Thereafter, he was popularly known as RJ Prateek. His other name, DJ Sam, was still maintained for the Saturday night club-music radio show called Club Mirchi.
Prateek is very famous for his heavy voice, his character impersonations (imitation of popular Indian/Bollywood
and Hollywood actors as well as creating new characters from real life) and his sense of humour. He has hosted a number of shows on Radio Mirchi
(Indore
), popular among them being Total Filmi, Bumper To Bumper
and Mirchi Masti.
In October 2006, Prateek shifted from Radio Mirchi
to Fever 104 FM
(New Delhi
). At Fever he started with hosting the evening prime-time show called Fever Drive, which included the Fever Hot 20 Countdown, a daily countdown show based on listeners' votes
.

In July 2009, Prateek made a comeback to Radio. He joined the Mid-Day Group owned radio station, Radio One 94.3 FM, New Delhi as the Morning Show Radio Jockey.
