It was reported on 22 November 2007 that he had been sacked from his forthcoming role as Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk
at the Charter Theatre, Preston. This follows an incident where he had to apologise after he swore several times down the microphone at 3,000 people who had gathered to see him switch on the Christmas lights in Preston city centre. The Leader of Preston Council, Ken Hudson said his outburst was "a disgrace". He was also hit with an £80 on the spot fine by police at the event. The offensive term he uttered was "make some motherfucking noise Preston!".
In June 2008 he was involved in a row with the organisers of the Miss Student UK beauty contest after getting drunk and being rude to contestants. The police, who were called, and the organisers have both confirmed the story, though Danan himself denies it.
It was reported in 2009 that Danan was working as a recruitment consultant and had tried to enter the backstage area of the V Festival
using a fake backstage pass.
Danan is currently appearing on Celebrity Quitters on UK TV channel Five. The show follows a group of celebrities, including Linda Robson
and Chloe Madeley
who are trying to give up smoking.
In August 2010, Danan reportedly moved to Royston

where, in the September, he was arrested for cannabis
possession and later tried at Stevenage Magistrates' Court for possessing cannabis and cocaine and a public order offence. Danan was fined £350 and referred to a drugs agency for support.
