- Oranmore village is located where the N6 from Galway to Dublin and the N18/N20 from Galway to Limerick and Cork. The new N6 Dual Carriageway will connect to the existing road at Briarhill, and with the N18 at Glenascaul. This will mean the current N6 leading into Oranmore will have to be reclassified. The new N18 Dual Carriageway is in the planning stage and as proposed would connect the new N6 at Rathmorrissey at a three level interchange. This road would run close to Oranmore but will not connect directly to it, instead motorists would have to drive south on the existing N18 to Kiltiernan or they will be able to join the road by driving along the new N6 and changing in Rathmorrissey.
