in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Toggenburg in the canton
of St. Gallen in Switzerland
.
The municipality is located in the Toggenburg Wahlkreis. It is in the western quarter of the Thur valley on the edge of the Chrüzeggkamm. It consists of the village of Krinau and the hamlets
of Altschwil, Au, Dreischlatt, Gurtberg, Schuflenberg, Krinäuli, Niederberg, Kapf and Gruben. The municipalities of Krinau and Wattwil
are considering a merger on 1 January 2013 into a new municipality with an as yet undetermined name.
It is a scenic farming village in Toggenburg.
