The largest inland lake in Dhenkanal, Dandadhar is spread over 500 squar kilometres, which expands significantly during the monsoons. It is 67 km. from Dhenkanal and 30 km from Kamakhyanagar. Dandadhar is the site of an irrigation project on the river Ramial- an ideal place for outing. Blue expanse of sparkling water caged in sun-bathed valley is a thrill to the searching eyes. Dandadhar, overflowing with aquatic fauna, has many islands dotting the water and is a bird watcher's heaven with migratory birds in hundreds of thousands coming for their annual winter visits from as far away as Siberia.
