and at international schools, Dr Hellyer received a Law degree and a Masters degree in International Political Economy from the University of Sheffield
. He received his PhD from the University of Warwick under Professor M. Anwar OBE, one of Europe’s most prolific sociologists in this academic area. He was recently offered the SJ Fellowship on the Study of Muslims in Britain at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies at the University of Oxford – the first such endowed post. He was also recently appointed as Senior Academic Advisor at Soliya

He has also completed a work entitled: “Majorities and Minorities” – a research study on minority groups in Southeast Asia and Africa, and is currently working on his next work on minority religious communities with Hurst and Co.
