Federal lands are lands in the United States for which ownership is claimed by the U.S. Federal Government. These include national parks, military bases, and the District of Columbia. Although it is still questionable whether or not the United States Constitution gives the federal government complete control over the use and disposition of federal lands, because they were not ceded by a state.
