The airline was established in 1972 as Transcontinental Airlines and in 1999 was purchased from Scott Kalitta by David Clark and Michael Goldberg who wholly own the airline, which has 270 employees (at March 2007).

. The wingflap damaged a car parked in a driveway; luckily the owner and her 3 children exited the car shortly before impact. When called by a GlobalTV news correspondent, the president of Express.net refused to offer an apology and felt that there was no reason for their company to contact the woman who owns the car.
