Taxonomy

Eucyon was named by Tedford and Qiu, and was subsequentely revised by Tedford et al. (2009).

Morphology

Two specimens were examined by Legendre and Roth for body mass. The first specimen was estimated to weigh 9.08 kg (20 lb). The second specimen was estimated to weigh 8.63 kg (19 lb).
