, for 13 years from 1923. From 1930 to 1936 he was also assistant secretary of the Societry for the Propagation of the Gospel. From 1936 to 1943 he was Rector
of Old Alresford
and also Archdeacon of Winchester, a post he held until his elevation to the Episcopate. A noted author, he died on 21 September 1979 at Whiteparish, Wilts.
