DecoTurf is a tennis hardcourt comprising layers of acrylic, rubber, silica, and other materials on top of an asphalt or concrete base. It is manufactured by (a division of which also manufactures Plexipave), based in Andover, Massachusetts.
The surface is used at the US Open, the ATP Masters Series events in Canada and Cincinnati, as well the US Open Series tournaments. DecoTurf was used in the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing, China. The 2004 Athens Olympics were also played on DecoTurf.
Compared to Rebound Ace, the surface upon which the Australian Open was played from 1988 until 2007, the ball slows down slightly less on the bounce and bounces slightly lower on DecoTurf. This explains why serve-and-volley players such as Stefan Edberg and Patrick Rafter had more success at events held on DecoTurf than at other hardcourt events.
