Alpha Kimori Great Doubt

Alpha Kimori Great Doubt Episode One is the first of the trilogy of Alpha Kimori Role Playing Games. Unlike other JRPGs that focus on either fantasy or sci-fi, this is a mix between the both. A lot of emphasis is placed on character development in the linear storyline, which is more common for JRPGs that are interactive novels compared to open ended western RPGs. Great Doubt is named after the underlying Great Doubt philosophy which is inspired by the Japanese Zen

Plot

The story of Alpha Kimori is set 50 years after the alien invasion of Earth. The planet Kimori becomes the new home to two warring human factions, named Bidarians and Jinrians. The Bidarians want to reclaim Earth. The Jinrians are contented with their new home. Thu, the Bidarians destroy with their mighty Robotic Intelligent Cybernetic Armor (RICA) technology while the Jinrians defend the planet with the ability to transmute into colossal indigenous creatures. Amidst the turmoil, young Bidarian warrior, Rick, falls in love with Jinrian princess, Yuki.

Characters

  • Rick Brightheart
Rick is a Bidarian warrior and a Kimorian enhanced human. The Bidarian Elders and Rick's parents exert tremendous pressure on Rick to perform in the Bidarian army. Rick is quite capable but his childhood memories of a girl with wings continue to haunt him and prevents him from violent tendencies.

  • Vanessa Avery
Vanessa is a Bidarian warrior who is a loyal childhood friend to Rick. She is an extremely gifted student in Ki Skills and her sense of pride has earned her the reputation of a diva. However, she seems willing to lower her standards for Rick because of her affection for him. Rick seems oblivious to her advances and views her as a friend rather than a lover.

  • Yuki Furikai
Yuki is a princess from Jinri adopted by the Jinrian Lord Magnus. Little is known about her history and how she has angelic wings. Notwithstanding her title, Yuki is a martial artist who prefers to go on subterfuge missions on her own. Yuki is oftentimes idealistic and would not admit her feelings for Rick, preferring instead to blame him for her grievances.
