 during 1264-67. It was rebuild in 16th. century. From 1561 until 1920 castle was property of Baltic-German baron von Behr family. In 18th. century castle was expanded. During 1835-1841 Ēdole castle saw major reconstruction and became one of the first samples of Neo-Gothic architecture in Kurzeme. Building was partly burned during revolution in 1905
