Extracurricular Activites

The middle school students of Holmdel participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities ranging from a choice of academic clubs, bands, chorus, orchestra, athletic teams, and clubs that deal with the community such as the "Builders Club", sponsored by Kiwanis International and the "Bridges Program".

In 2011, eighth grader, Ray Wang, from W.R. Satz School made it into the second semi-final round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee and the eighth grade team placed first in the state at the annual New Jersey Academic Bowl held at the Carl W. Goetz Middle School in Jackson, New Jersey.

Satz annually hosts plays, talent shows, musicals, and concerts, created by their Drama Productions club, Stage Crew, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and Hand Bells.

Some other notable clubs include the Youth Alliance - dedicated to promoting a no-use message towards drugs and alcohol - a Multicultural Awareness Group (M.A.G.) which promotes the acceptance of multiple cultures within the society, and Student Ambassadors, an organization designed to promote an engagement between students and the community.

The school also allows their students to participate in the creation of their school newspaper and yearbook.

Eight graders participate in an annual trip to Washington D.C. in the spring.
