 inspected in May 2010 they rated the school inadequate and put it in Special Measures. On their most recent inspection, HMI said the school was ready to be taken out of special measures and was making satisfactory progress. Mrs Hasler is due to retire in August and Mr Parry will take over as principal.

Mr Wells

On 19 March 2011, DT teacher Mr Brian Wells died after a long struggle with cancer. The school ran a Mr Wells Day on the last day of the spring term (8 April 2011) to raise money for Children With Leukaemia
