Parsons has yet to make a major international breakthrough but he has competed at a high level finishing 20th in the 2003 European Juniors, 17th in the 2005 European U23 championships, 10th in the 2005 World University Games, 11th at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 10th in the World Championships at Osaka.
