His best year as a pro came during his rookie season with San Francisco, intercepting 6 passes for 33 yards and 1 touchdown. He was an All Pro Corner for 2 NFL seasons and was named to the "All Madden Team". During the Carolina Panthers inaugural season, he intercepted a pass and scored on a ninety-six yard interception run for a touchdown to defeat the Super Bowl Champ San Francisco 49ers.
