A very quiet village consisting of only several houses, which allows this village the peace it has, the scenery and landscape is very beautiful.
Scarcliffe woods is nearby within walking distance therefore easy access to walking facilities.
The roads are rather quiet with no pavements.
Many horse riders will be found walking the roads so please be on the lookout.

The house in the picture has now been modernised and updated the village, without losing the sense of tradition from the village of what it used to be years ago. Many people still live in the village who will know about the past history of the village, plus many photos. Many of the properties around Stoney Houghton are Chatsworth Estate Houses, which are rented out to tenants who have been in the families of these people for years.
