Star of Indiana was the DCI champion in 1991. In addition, the corps placed second once (1993), and third twice (1990 and 1992).

After the 1993 season (2nd place with a 97.3), they left the competitive marching circuit. They performed a ten-city tour of Brass Theater along with the Canadian Brass

Star of Indiana returned at the 2010 DCI World Championships performing a medley of their 1985 - 1993 field shows with their alumni corps, Star Alumni Corps. The group performed in Indianapolis on August 11, 2010 during the DCI Championships week and at Lucas Oil Stadium between the last corps performing and the retreat at the DCI Semi Finals on August 13. A DVD will be made by a professional company hired by Star Alumni Corps.

Star beat the Cadets by 0.4 points at the DCI World Championship Quarterfinals and subsequently lost to the Cadets by 0.3 points in the Semifinals and by 0.1 in the finals. In total Star won 30 shows in 1993 (including 1 tie with the Cadets) and lost only 4 times (all second place and to the Cadets). Star only faced the Cadets 9 times in competition in 1993 (4 wins by Star, 4 wins by the Cadets and 1 tie).

  • By making finals this year, Star became the second corps in the history of DCI to make it to the finals in the first year of its existence (first was the Bleu Raeders in 1972). Subsequent rule changes have made this impossible as first year corps cannot compete as Division I.
