Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, the flagship facility of Spartanburg Regional, is a research and teaching hospital with more than 500 physicians on staff. More than 12,000 surgical procedures are performed annually there. Outpatient diagnostic services are located in the Center for Women and the Outpatient Center. Outpatient surgery is offered through the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Spartanburg and the Surgery Center at Pelham.

In 1986, Spartanburg General Hospital changed its name to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The main campus includes the Heart Center, Gibbs Cancer Center, Center for Women, Surgical Weight Loss Services, Regional Hospice, Rehabilitation Services, Sleep Center, and the Outpatient Center. With more than 100,000 visits annually, the Emergency Center is one of the busiest Level I Trauma Centers in the United States

Spartanburg Regional is also proud to be the first hospital in the state and in the nation to develop a comprehensive Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT).
