The Town of South Valley is in the southwest corner of the county. It is due east from the city of Jamestown

was constructed, as many small communities that once inhabited the town along the Allegheny River
were flooded. Maps of Cattaraugus County produced today will sometimes make note of the now-abandoned hamlet of Onoville (still marked on I-86
and on navigation signs), with a marker that places its location underwater.

There were 126 households out of which 22.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% were married couples
living together, 5.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.6% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.83.
In the town the population was spread out with 20.5% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 34.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 125.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 122.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $38,750, and the median income for a family was $47,188. Males had a median income of $32,188 versus $22,188 for females. The per capita income
