Description

Reklaw describes the strip as "a collective dream diary authored by people from around the world." Readers submit their dreams to the artist, usually by E-mail, and are credited as co-authors of the resulting cartoon. Reklaw illustrates each dream in four panels, paring down the dreamer's commentary to a few sentences. Reklaw has said he likes dreams because they have "their own logic and a natural dada

As of 2009, Reklaw has introduced continuity into the strip, with characters encountering situations based on the dreams submitted by the readers. Situations introduced in one episode sometimes persist into the next. The strip is also now drawn as four panels arranged horizontally, rather than as four panels on two rows.

The anthology Dreamtoons collects 109 episodes from the first five years of the strip.
