Sarkhej is accessible through National Highways NH 8A and NH 8C.

Sarkhej is the main godown area for ahmedabad. Warehousing and Distribution for entire Gujarat is done from Sarkhej. Ujjala Restaurant is a landmark in Sarkhej. There is also a narrow gauge railway station. Earlier Sarkhej was under the control of Sarkhej Okaf Nagar Palika. Sarkhej is also known for chakadas 10 seater autos. it was a common site to see 20 people crouched inside this chakada.
