Robert Laurie the son of Joseph Laurie, was a seventeenth-century Church of Scotland

of Edinburgh.
In 1671 he became Bishop of Brechin
, but because of the tiny size of that bishopric was allowed to retain his deanery as well as a position at Holy Trinity in Edinburgh
. He served as Bishop of Brechin until his death in 1677. The historian Robert Keith
referred to him as "a celebrated preacher, and a man of moderation".
