FC Porto defended successfully the championship title, winning their 23rd championsip, the 3rd in a row, in the 25th fixture after a 6-0 win over Estrela da Amadora. On 27 April, 2008, União de Leiria were relegated for losing 3-1 at home to fellow strugglers Leixões.
