. The typeface was released by Monotype Corporation

 on April 19, 2004. The design concept called for a versatile, futuristic typeface that didn't look "crude, gimmicky or ephemeral". The font was released with a companion typeface called Neo Tech.

Neo Sans was used as the official typeface of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
