Overview of academics

NCNM has two schools: The School of Naturopathic Medicine and the School of Classical Chinese Medicine. It offers three professional graduate degree programs: The Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, and Master in Acupuncture. These four year programs include extensive preparation and clinical practice in the art of holistic healing, and are fully accredited programs.

NCNM's Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine is a four-year program that trains students to become holistic primary care physicians, while preparing graduates to sit for board examinations in states and provinces that license NDs (naturopathic physicians).

 work with and train the medical students. It is owned and managed by the college. The clinic features a medicinary, private offices, conference rooms and a state-licensed laboratory. In conjunction with other agencies and as a member of the Coalition of Community Clinics, NCNM offers free and low-cost medical care delivered by naturopathic physicians at many sites around the Portland metropolitan area. Each year, these 11 community clinics provide services to more than 40,000 patients.
