Historical railway line of Taiping-Port Weld

Previously, the road was formally known as a main railway line of Taiping-Port Weld, the first railway line in Malaysia. Construction of the railway began in 1884 and was completed in 1885. Service began on 1 February 1885, lasting until 1941.

Notable features

At most section, the Federal Route 74 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h.
